Ashley Kappel

Managing Attorney & Mediator

Ashley Kappel is a real estate attorney and mediator with a diverse background spanning law, education, and community leadership. She helps clients navigate complex real estate transactions and facilitates dispute resolution in real estate, business, workplace, education, and community matters.

Before becoming a lawyer, Ashley spent 11 years in education as a teacher, school leader, and director of a teacher preparation program she built from the ground up.  She is currently the board chair of Shining Mountains Montessori School and previously worked as the Executive Director of the Chaffee Housing Authority. These experiences give her a unique perspective on problem-solving, collaboration, and the challenges faced by communities, schools, and organizations.

In her legal practice, Ashley represents developers, property owners, investors, businesses, schools, nonprofits, and local governments in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate, including acquisitions, sales, financing, and development. She guides clients through zoning, entitlements, and regulatory approvals, drafts and negotiates contracts, and advises on leasing, acquisitions, and borrower financing. Her strategic, organized approach ensures that clients understand every step of a process and can make informed decisions with confidence.

As a neutral mediator, Ashley works with parties to resolve disputes in real estate, business, education, and community matters. She focuses on creating a safe, structured environment where all sides can communicate effectively, clarify interests, and find mutually acceptable solutions without litigation. Her background as a transactional attorney and community leader gives her a practical, solution-oriented perspective that helps parties reach agreements efficiently.

 
Ashley has 11 years of experience as a real estate attorney, including several years at an AmLaw 100 firm in Denver, She relocated to the Arkansas River Valley in 2022 to serve her clients and community.

When she’s not closing deals or facilitating resolutions, Ashley enjoys skiing, biking, and hiking with her husband, spoiling her two rescue mutts, cooking, watching football, playing piano, and volunteering.
